6 people in Fiji are counting their lucky stars after surviving more then 15 hours drifting at sea.

The crew left Somosomo in Gau at 6 yesterday morning, bound for Ovalau.

They encountered engine problems along the way and a call was made to the Saint Johns ambulance in Suva who then contacted the Levuka Police Station.

A search party was launched, but the fibre glass boat could not be found.

The search was called off last night but the Fiji Times says the crew are reported to have arrived safely in Ovalau at around 10pm.
