MSG summit begins in Fiji

The 18th Melanesian Spearhead Group Summit begins today in Suva, Fiji.

Fiji Village says a number of delegates have arrived in the capital city as the MSG Trade and Economic Officials meeting commences before the Senior Officials Meetings.

The MSG Foreign Ministers meeting will then take place next Tuesday before the bilateral meetings next Wednesday.

Next Thursday, Fiji's interim prime minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama will chair the MSG Leaders Summit.

It will be attended by all the leaders of the Melanesian countries.

A representative from Luxemburg will also come for the summit as a special guest.

Other countries coming in as observers will be Timor Leste and Indonesia.

Meanwhile, the Regional Police Commissioners Conference will also be held in Suva today.
