The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has reaffirmed that no radiation threat exists in the Northern Marianas because of the nuclear emergency in Japan.

The CNMI's delegate to the US Congress says the CNMI is one of 12 US monitored locations to get information from the EPA.

Gregorio Kilili Sablan says they are the closest U.S. location to Japan that has a substantial population.

He says the CNMI is glad to see that the data the EPA is collecting continues to show no harmful level of air-borne radiation.
