The Minister of Finance and Treasury in Solomon Islands Gordon Darcy Lilo has presented his more than 291 million US dollar dollar budget to Parliament.
The Solomon Times reports Mr Lilo delivered the budget with the theme to improve the quality of public expenditure to invest in better services, and to lay the foundations for sustainable growth.
He said the overarching reform goals of this budget includes reducing public waste and increasing efficiencies in public expenditure; ensuring ministries are properly and adequately resourced and building infrastructure.
Mr Lilo said another issue that the government has put significant budgetary support to, is the complex land tenure system.
