Tonga's Sevens coach believes team can improve

The head coach of Tonga's Sevens squad believes the team still has much room for improvement if it's to catch up with Pacific neighbours, Fiji and Samoa.

Fiji and Samoa are currently tied in third place in the series standings.

Tonga will take on Australia in their first pool match of the Adelaide Sevens, which kicks off today.

The team's Head coach, Siua Taumalolo, says he believes his side can beat the likes of Fiji and Samoa if the team works harder to improve.

"You know in Hong Kong we should have beat Samoa there. We had loads of poor position, loads of opportunities to score tries, but we didn't finish it. And I think it comes up to the experience of the boys. But you can see the Samoa boys, the experienced players, they can hang on to the last minute, into the last second, and they won the game which I think was a game we should've won easy."

Siua Taumalolo says he hopes Tonga will perform much better this weekend, following the Hong Kong leg of the series.
