Samoa Tourism's marketing manager says the new conference facility at the Tanoa Tusitala Hotel is ideal for corporate and groups wanting to host key meetings in Apia.

The Fiji based Reddy Group took over the former Tusitala hotel in July 2009, and over 18 months has refurbished the entire property at a cost of millions of dollars.

The Tanoa has been accredited under the Samoa accommodation standards at the deluxe end of the scale, on par with Aggie Greys and Sina Lei resorts.

Dwayne Bentley says the hotel's brand new air conditioned facility can take up to 150 delegates at one time.

"It's a purpose built facility, so in terms of attracting regional conferences and meetings to Samoa, it will definitely help. So it's been built especially with that particular market segment in mind."
