Samoa's Land Transport Authority is offering to pay members of the public 200 tala if they identify car drivers that damage traffic lights, road signs and rails at crossings then flee.
Most of the damage occurs along Vaitele St, which stretches from the industrial zone at Vaitele, travels inland of Apia, and ends at Malifa.
The chief executive of the Land Transport Authority, Leasi John Galuvao, says the repair bill for damage on the street is too high.
He says the damage is due to nothing but excessive speed.
