Vanuatu's Vanuatu Republican Party MP Samson Samsen has defected to the Labour Party.
In a ceremony welcoming the MP into his party, the Deputy Prime Minister, Joshua Kalsakau, said the groundwork had already been prepared for Mr Samsen to join his party.
The Daily Post newspaper says Mr Samsen is among three other MPs who withdrew from the Vanuatu Republican Party.
Mr Samsen's arrival boosts Labour Party's number of MPs to three.
