Cook Islands appoints new High Commissioner to New Zealand

The Cook Islands deputy prime minister and foreign minister, Tom Marsters, has announced the appointment of Dorice Reid Te Tika Mataiapo as the next Cook Islands High Commissioner to New Zealand.

Mr Marsters says she's a well known Cook Islander with a long involvement in public and social activities.

He says she's well aware of the needs and aspirations of the Cooks in relation to New Zealand.

Dorice Reid Te Tika Mataiapo replaces Mike Mitchell.
