The Kangaroos rugby league prop, Petero Civoniceva, has reiterated his desire to help out the sport in his homeland Fiji.

The Penrith Panthers captain is currently preparing for Friday's night's ANZAC Test against New Zealand on the Gold Coast, where Australia are looking to avenge November's loss in the final of the Four Nations tournament.

Earlier in the year Civoniceva indicated he was interested in playing for Fiji at the 2013 World Cup, once he ended his representative commitments with Australia and Queensland.

He says that's still very much on the cards.

"I'd definitely love to help out where I can. I think there's a responsibility there for me ,and I think all the other players that have a Fijian background, to try and help the game there. It's starting to take off there. It's got a strong domestic competition there and I'd definitely love to help out and be a part of it."
