The interim Fiji foreign minister, Ratu Inoke Kubuabola says there's little chance of real re-engagement between Fiji and Australia as long as Kevin Rudd remains the Australian foreign minister.
He's attacked Mr Rudd for saying after last week's Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group meeting in London that there'd been no measurable change whatsoever with regards to Fiiji returning to democracy.
Ratu Inoke says Mr Rudd is prejudiced in his views on Fiji.
He says that real progress is being made with preparing a new constitution and for the elections scheduled in 2014.
Ratu Inoke says they've also received a lot of international backing and encouragement for the planned reforms.
The Fiji foreign minister also says the interim government is getting assistance from the Indonesian Electoral Commission and that voter registration would get underway later this year.
