Papua New Guinea's absent Prime Minister, Sir Michael Somare, is expected to make an appearance at the opening of parliament in Port Moresby on Tuesday.
Sir Michael was in Singapore to celebrate his 75th birthday last month and undergo what he said was a minor medical operation following a two-week suspension from office for financial misconduct.
The Post Courier newspaper reports Sir Michael was released from hospital yesterday having undergone surgery on one of his lungs and is expected to make an appearance on the floor of parliament when it resumes on May the 10th.
