Weather experts advise continuing alert over cyclone possibilities

Pacific regional climate services say the La Nina weather pattern is continuing to weaken in the south west Pacific.

In their monthly report the agencies say there were nine cyclones in the forecast period, which has now ended, but they advise countries to remain on alert because some tropical cyclone activity remains possible.

The weather experts also predict lower rainfall in coming weeks in the northern Cook Islands and Tuvalu, while Niue, Fiji, Tonga, and the Austral Islands can expect more rain than normal.
