PNG police urge action against unruly soldiers

Papua New Guinea police have condemned what they call rogue elements of the Defence Force over their attempted burning of the Manu Autoport Service Station.

The Deputy Commissioner, Fred Yakasa, says it's not the first time armed soldiers in full battle gear have gone around threatening civilians.

Mr Yakasa has called upon the Defence top hierarchy to help police bring the soldiers to Police to be dealt with.

He says the soldiers' reported retaliation and tactics employed in the Manu incident were shocking.
