A 6-point-8 magnitude earthquake struck off Vanuatu and New Caledonia last night.
The US Geological Survey says the epicentre of the earthquake was 136 kilometres southwest of Vanuatu and 147 kilometres north-east of New Caledonia's Loyalty Islands.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre did not post any warnings.
There have been no reports of damage.
