The former lawyer for the Development Bank of Samoa, Sailigatusa Semi Samau is back in prison serving out his five year sentence after the Court of Appeal dismissed his appeal.

Samau appealed against his conviction and sentence.

He was charged with 15 counts of theft as a servant, falsifying information and forgery to which he pleaded not guilty to.

After the trial the Court found him guilty on ten of the 15 charges and sentenced him to five years imprisonment.

But because of medical complications, Samau did not serve out his time immediately but was taken to New Zealand for a medical check-up.

He was later issued with a warrant of arrest for his return from New Zealand.
