Papua New Guinea police have admitted they gave the wrong name of the suspect in their investigation into claims a man was trying to extort money and sex from prominent television presenter and former Miss PNG, Antonia Singut.
The man had claimed he had a pornographic video featuring Ms Singut but police have dismissed this, saying the tape was produced overseas and was of foreigners.
The suspect had given his name as Martin Wojeiba from Manus but police have since established his real name is Martin Ogoba and that he's from Oro province.
Police only became aware of the error after the real Martin Wojeiba complained after seeing the reports in a local newspaper.
