Search for missing CNMI sisters into second week

9:07 am on 2 June 2011

The search for two school girls who went missing in the Northern Marianas has entered its second week.

Law enforcement agencies in Saipan have this week expanded their search team, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation adding 20 special agents in child abduction cases.

A police spokesman, Jason Tarkong says the search and rescue team along with volunteers have been searching 24 hours each day.

"We have followed up every lead and possible sightings. And we've currently worked with the community and volunteers as far as passing out fliers. We've done vehicle stops, we've stopped vehicles, we've searched vehicles island-wide, all over, so the search continues."

Jason Tarkong says the team will continue to look for the nine and ten year old sisters until they are found or told to stop.
