There are reports from Papua New Guinea that two cabinet ministers have been sacked by the acting prime minister, Sam Abal.

The two reportedly dumped from cabinet are foreign minister Don Polye and petroleum minister, William Duma.

It comes amid growing criticism of the government's performance in the absence of the ailing Sir Michael Somare.

Local media report a dispute with Mr Polye over the control of the highlands grouping in the ruling National Alliance, while there are also concerns over Mr Duma's management of the LNG developments.

Controversial former treasurer Patrick Pruaitch is also seeking to return to cabinet.
