Vanuatu's Labour Commissioner is hopeful more Ni-Vanuatu will head to Australia under the Pacific Seasonal Workers Pilot Scheme.

Vanuatu has about 2,000 workers in New Zealand's Recognised Seasonal Employment Scheme

The Daily Post reports the commissioner, Lionel Kaluat, as saying if Vanuatu can show it has a disciplined workforce, it could end up sending ten workers to Australia every week after June next year.

He says reports from the workers who have just returned from the pilot scheme are positive.
