Australia's opposition leader, Tony Abbott, will visit Nauru tomorrow as part of an effort to re-open the island's detention centre to process Australia's asylumseekers.
The Australian government has been in talks with Malaysia in a bid to find places abroad to deal with people seeking asylum in Australia.
Mr Abbott has challenged the Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, to make a similar trip to Malaysia to get the same guarantees Nauru can offer that boat people will not be mistreated.

Nauru and PNG housed Australian-run camps after a Norwegian tanker in 2001 dropped off boat people on Australia's Christmas Island.
