Fiji on brink of retaining netball crown

10:21 am on 9 June 2011

Fiji look set to retain the Pacific Series netball title after a commanding 50-36 win over the Cook Islands on Wednesday.

It leaves the world's fifth ranked side as the only unbeaten team left in the competition with one round remaining.

In the other match, world champs bound Samoa defeated the host nation, Papua New Guinea 62-50.

Fiji only need to beat winless PNG to secure the title.
