Plans for a new multi-million dollar city in Nausori in Fiji have been unveiled.

The Nakorolevu City project includes plans for a 4-star and 3-star resort and is designed to promote tourism in Nausori.

According to the Fiji Live website, Canaan Development Enterprise will carry out the project.

Its Chief Executive, Viliame Yabakivou told stakeholders during a consultation on Thursday that the idea was initiated after landowners from Muana village offered their land for the project.

He says the new city will benefit the government's human resources employment programme, boost tax revenue and attract tourists.
