Samoa seeking revenge in residents clash

10:26 am on 17 June 2011

Samoa admit revenge is on their minds heading into Friday afternoon's residents rugby league international against Fiji in Suva.

Last year the Bati beat them on their home turf for the first time.

Toa Samoa coach Ponifasio Vasa says he's expecting Fiji to throw the ball around and play an attacking brand of football.

He says the team has been fine-tuning it's defence in training and is determined to square the ledger.

"That's basically the case. It's part of continuing networking and developing of the rugby league sports between the two nations. So Fiji came over and this year Fiji's hosting us to come here but the great challenge on our shoulders is to be here for revenge."

The match kicks off at 4pm local time.
