CNMI search for missing girls to resume

9:02 am on 20 June 2011

Hawaii State Civil Defense's tracking expert dog, Pohaku, will today resume his mission to search for two sisters missing in the Northern Marianas for nearly a month.

Faloma and Maleina Luhk, who are 9 and 10 years old, mysteriously vanished, prompting an unprecedented search on Saipan.

Pohaku, a 2-year-old male black Labrador retriever, failed to find them in his full-day search on Saturday and was given a day off.

FBI special agent Tom Simon says even dogs deserve a day of rest.

Meanwhile, a source at the Department of Public Safety has disclosed that a company plans to increase the monetary reward from the current 33,500 US dollars to 50,000.
