The Nauru government is to conduct its fifth population census from next month.
It'll provide a complete count of the population of Nauru and aims to capture the island's essential socioeconomic characteristics.
About 72 staff will be involved with the process which concludes in October.
The population of Nauru at the last count five years ago was just over nine thousand, down one thousand from its peak in 2002.
