French Polynesia's Tahoeraa Huiraatira Party has issued a statement to say that its leader, Gaston Flosse, is in good health.
The statement says a report on a news site that he is in a Tahiti hospital after suffering a stroke is baseless.
The party says he has been working in the French legislature's law commission and has today been celebrating his 80th birthday with those who are close to him.
