1:27 pm on 27 June 2011

Vanuatu's new Prime Minister has named his ministers following yesterday's parliamentary election.

Sato Kilman won 29 of the 52 assembly votes, beating his rival candidate Serge Vohor by six.

It's the third time Mr Kilman has taken the Prime Ministership in just over six months, a period marked by votes of no confidence and constitutional challenges.

As our correspondent in Port Vila, Len Garae, reports, Mr Kilman has reinstated his former cabinet.

"The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade is Mr Ham Lini, Minister of Education is Mr Marcellino Pepite, the Finance Minister is Mr Moana Carcasses, Foreign Minister is Alfred Carlot, Minister of Health is Mr Willie Ruben and the Minister of Infrastructure or Public Utilities is Mr Harry Iauko, and Internal Affairs Minister is Mr George Wells, Justice Minister is Mr Ralph Regenvanu, Sports and Youth Development Minister is Mr Morkin Stephen, Minister of Lands is Mr Stephen Kalsakau and the Minister of ni-Vanuatu Business is Mr Don Ken."
