Local farmers in the Northern Mariana Islands are expressing support for a local businessman's plan to establish a cargo airline.

The farmers say Tony Pellegrino's Cargo Air Bridge project will help the agriculture industry in the CNMI.

The Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council chair Ramon Camacho is praising Mr Pellegrino for taking action to help farmers.

Mr Camacho says venturing into farming will be beneficial for the entire community.

The Sabalu Farmers Market president, Isidoro Cabrera, says he supports the Cargo Air Bridge venture 100 percent, adding that the presence of a cargo airline company will increase agricultural production in the CNMI.
