The Solomon Islands Prime Minister, Danny Philip has described the news that US AID will return to the Pacific as ground breaking.
This statement was made during a joint press conference with the visiting US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asia and Pacific Affairs, Kurt Campbell.
Mr Philip says the visit by Dr Campbell is timely with discussion on regional issues like the Fiji interim government, climate change and other United Nations related concerns around the World.
Dr Campbell spoke saying it was a privilege to visit Solomon Islands to hold talks on important issues, and also to visit
the sacred sites for the US from the second World War.
Dr Campbell also held talks with the heads of the Regional Assistance Mission - RAMSI.
