Women's leaders to meet in Nadi

6:57 am on 4 July 2011

About 100 women leaders from around the world are to converge on Nadi for a series of meetings in November hosted by Fiji's National Council of Women.

About 50 women are expected to come from overseas for the Nadi meetings, including 12 from the Pacific.

The council's president, Tauga Vulaono, says the theme is Women in Agriculture.

She says they will be looking at the challenge posed for women and their families by world food shortages and rising prices, caused by climate change and natural disasters.
