A Samoan man deported from New Zealand after serving nine months in prison for indecently assaulting a girl under 16 has reoffended in Samoa and was found guilty by a panel of assessors for charges of rape, attempted rape, and indecent assault.

The defendant, Faavae Joseph Salele, has been sentenced to 12 years and eleven months in prison.

The victims were two sisters aged eleven and fourteen years old.

The judge, Pierre Slicer, in his decision says the defendant's actions were serious and inappropriate because of the ages of the victims as well as they are sisters.
