Solomons government and ADB sign transport deal

The Solomon Islands government and the Asian Development Bank will sign a 4.3 million US dollar agreement today to help restore vital transport links in the country.

Grants from the Australian government are also being channelled through the ADB's Solomon Islands Road Improvement Project.

Since joining the ADB in 1973, Solomon Islands has received 16 loans worth more than 85 million US dollars, six Asian Development Fund grants worth more than 55 million, and 65 technical assistance projects worth more than 22 million.
