Fiji health officials begin outreach programme in Kadavu

In Fiji, a team of 60 medical officials from the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva leave for Kadavu today as part of their medical outreach programme.

The Ministry of Health spokesperson, Peni Namotu, says the medical team will be based at Vunisea Hospital for one week.

He says this is part of the ministry's effort in taking health to the people and making it more accessible.

The team will provide surgical, clinical and public health services to the people and will visit villages around Kadavu creating awareness on public health.

This is the third trip the ministry will conduct following similar visits to Vunidawa and Koro island.

The next one to Lau will provide similar services.
