The acting governor of the Northern Marianas, Eloy Inos, has reprogrammed 1.7 million US dollars of Commonwealth Development Authority funding and redirected to address the state of emergency at the Commonwealth Health Center.

Mr Inos was able to redirect the funding are after declaring a state of emergency at the Health Center last Thursday.

He was concerned at the growing debt problems at the Center which posed a threat to service delivery.

The declaration allowed the acting governor to suspend all statutory or regulatory provisions and gave him the ability to reprogramme funding to address the emergency.
