Amnesty International raises concerns for Papuan activist

7:14 pm on 8 August 2011

Amnesty International's Indonesia chapter has expressed concern for the safety of Papua-based rights activist Yones Douw.

Mr Douw has received medical treatment after he was beaten by Indonesian military officers on June 15.

However Amnesty International says he continues to fear for his safety and the safety of his family after he received information that he's under surveillance by members from the Indonesian security forces.
