Two Tonga opposition MPs assigned to review the spending of a huge loan from China for the rebuilding of Nuku'alofa, remain unsure of the nature of the work the prime minister requires.
MP Akilisi Pohiva says he and Dr Sitiveni Halapua will need to wait another two weeks until prime minister, Lord Tu'ivakano, returns from overseas.
The China loan of 50 million US dollars is being administered by the Nuku'alofa Development Corporation.
Matangi Tonga reports that the prime minister wants to know what's been allocated and spent and other matters.
But Mr Pohiva says they need precise directions including terms of reference.
"But we fully understand that the exercise we are going to carry out is an extension of what the two from New Zealand [Melino Maka and Dr Teena Brown Pulu] were assigned to carry out. You know that their assignment was terminated last month and that's why the prime minister put through the parliament a resolution to get myself and Steven Halapua to finish the assigment."
