Samoa judge says sex crime penalties should be reviewed

Samoa's Supreme Court Justice, Vui Clarence Nelson is calling for the maximum penalty for incest to be reviewed.

A 47 year old man was yesterday sentenced after pleading guilty to 58 sex crimes.

The Samoa Observer reports Justice Vui as saying the case was not the first where a father has had sex with his daughters.

He says the number of similar cases before the Court suggests it's time for the appropriate authorities to review the penalty.
