Hawaii's Governor announces vision for high speed broadband

Hawaii's Governor, Neil Abercrombie, has announced his high-tech vision for the future of getting access to super ultra high speed broadband by 2018.

The governor told local media that world-class broadband would create jobs and improve the quality of life, such as in education and healthcare.

But he has remained vague about who would end up paying for it.

The Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism's Richard Lim, one of two agencies tasked with implementing the broadband initiative, says the costs would be significant.
