Reports from Fiji say the military has banned all meetings of the Methodist Church provided under its constitution.
FBC News says the military council has written to the church to outline the ban that applies to monthly, quarterly, Standing Committee, financial and divisional meetings.
The council states that the ban is being enforced because the Church failed to heed or adhere to directives for the President and General Secretary to step aside.
The two were asked to quit their positions after the regime charged them with breaching emergency regulations two years ago.
As a result the military cancelled this week's annual church conference, with the military noting that the church leaders maintained that a person was innocent until proven guilty.
FBC News says the extended ban will lead to the collapse of the Methodist church administration.
