Tonga noble family evicted from former government residence

A Tongan noble, Lord Akau'ola, has been evicted from a former government property that was sold nearly a year ago.

Lord Akau'ola is the special advisor to the Tonga prime minister.

Matangi Tonga reports the property was bought by a local accountant, with the transaction completed in November last year, but he hasn't been able to move because the Akau'ola family continued to occupy it.

On Friday police executed a court order to remove them.
