The head of the Pacific Games Council says he's satisfied any teething problems in New Caledonia have been dealt with as the competition's approaches the end of its first week.

Some athletes expressed problems with the readiness of accommodation at the Games village upon their arrival in Noumea, while transport problems and long queues in the village dining area were also raised with Games organisers.

The President of the Pacific Games Council, Vidhya Lakhan, says the organising committee has been very receptive to any issues that have arisen and that looking after the athletes is their primary focus.

He says in response to their concerns dining hours have been extended, extra transport arranged in the village and all accommodation problems have also been dealt with.
