An earthquake measuring 6.1 on the Richter scale occured in Vanuatu this morning.
The US Geological Survey said the quake struck at a depth of 60 kilometres, around 160km south of the capital Port Vila.
It came a day after an earthquake measuring 7.0 struck 122km southeast of Vanuatu's island of Tanna at a depth of 132km.
No tsunami warning was issued after either quake.
