Farmers in the Northern Marianas are calling for a central market and a reliable irrigation system to revive agriculture in the Commonwealth.
Ramon Camacho of the Saipan Sabalu Farmers Market says the industry's been compromised by a lack of equipment, efficient and low-cost irrigation, and streamlined distribution.
Mr Camacho says local government does not own any farm equipment which farmers could use even for a fee and they should have access to technical advice.
He says 450 thousand dollars needs to be spent to make it the CNMI's top industry.
