The Serbian Government has commended Fiji for not succumbing to international pressure on issues regarding its sovereignty.

Serbia's Foreign Affairs Minister, Vuk Jeremic, said they are of the view that every sovereign state should be able to govern itself and that no country can tell any other country how best to govern itself.

Speaking at a bilateral meeting with Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola, Jeremic stressed that Serbia supports Fiji's efforts on domestic reforms towards a sustainable democracy.

Fiji Village online says Ratu Inoke is in Belgrade for a ministerial meeting of the Non Aligned Movement.
