The Fiji office charged with ensuring the country's transition to democracy has clarified a media report about political manifestos.
Sitiveni Raturala from the Office for Strategic Framework for Change says the way the 2014 general elections will be conducted will depend on the new Constitution.
Mr Raturala has told FBC News that political parties will be able to create their own manifestos within the confines of the People's Charter which he says carries the will of the people.
He says in the past, political parties have come up with manifestos which most of the time were used to buy votes and were never fulfilled.
The interim regime abolished the constitution two years ago and says a new one will be in place in two years.
