Solomon Airlines has grounded the Dash-8 aircraft it leased from Airlines PNG.
This follows last Thursday's crash of a Airlines PNG Dash-8 which killed 28 people.
A team from the Canadian manufacturer, Bombardier, is due in PNG to help with the investigation of the accident.
The Solomon Islands Broacasting Corporation says the grounding will have a serious impact on the carrier, with updates expected within a week.
