The FBI says it is still investigating the mysterious disappearance of sisters Faloma and Maleina Luhk in the Northern Marianas four months ago.

A special agent Tom Simon says the FBI continues to encourage the public to come forward with information that may move the case closer to a solution.

In August, FBI special agents reportedly seized the car of a firefighter who had refused to undergo a lie detector test in connection with their investigation.

At that time, Mr Simon would not confirm or deny the seizure of the car, saying they can't comment on ongoing investigative steps unless or until charges are filed.

The two girls, aged 9 and 10 respectively, were reportedly last seen near a bus stop.
