A Northern Marianas representative, Raymond Palacios, will appear in court this morning on charges of trafficking methamphetamine or ice.
Mr Palacios was arrested by police detectives on Friday and has been in detention at the Department of Corrections in Susupe.
The warrant for his arrest was issued by Superior Court associate judge David Wiseman.
Sources say a 60,000 US cash bail was imposed on Mr Palacios for two counts of drugs trafficking.
Representative Palacios earlier denied he was involved in selling the banned drug.
