There has been a delay in the delivery of new Fiji passports that were due to arrive in the country this month.
Fijilive reports the new passports will now arrive in January.
The Department of Immigration says it is holding passport applications from August the 25th.
The Department says it is issuing a certificate of identity for anyone who needs to travel overseas
The certificate of identity is valid for a year and its acceptance depends on the relevant embassy.
